30 Days: Turning the Hearts of Parents & Teenagers Toward Each Other30 Days: Turning the Hearts of Parents &
Teenagers Toward Each Other
by Richard Ross

Can 30 days really make a difference? When it comes to building relationships between students and their parents, sometimes 30 days may be the best way to start.

Developed by Richard Ross, Southwestern Seminary professor of Youth Education and founder of True Love Waits, with Gus Reyes, a Hispanic Youth Specialist with the Baptist General Convention of Texas, this remarkable resource is designed to re-open the lines of communication and help families rebuild and even deepen their relationships.

Starting with just ten minutes each evening, parents and teens find a quiet place and, by candlelight, open and alternately read five cards, each designed to encourage dialogue. One mother called it “an incredible experience; eye-opening, tear-jerking, and heart-warming all at the same time.”

Why does it work? The authors drew not only on their extensive professional experience, but also on their personal desire to better relate to their own teenage children. So, as the title says, this resource turns hearts, because it came from the heart.

Living With TeenagersLiving With Teenagers

Living With teenagers the magazine that helps parents go beyond just surviving the teenager years.
Living with Teenagers magazine opens the door for a look into the real world where teens live — the pressures, the temptations, the motives, the needs, and more — and delivers the information within the framework of a Christian worldview to help parents better understand their teens and build solid parent-teen relationships.

Living with Teenagers hits hard at issues that characterize teen culture and deals with the accompanying challenges faced not only by youth, but also by parents. Every monthly issue offers parents new ideas and wise advice for steering teens through the twists and turns of adolescence with faith and perseverance. Each issue is written by Christian educators, doctors, psychologists, youth leaders, and parents. Our ultimate goal is to encourage and equip parents with biblical solutions to transform families.

Going beyond simple techniques, this biblically-based approach helps you identify both positive and negative relational dynamics that lie just under the surface of family life. As you examine these factors, either on your own, or with the encouragement of a small group, you will gain the wisdom, insight, and courage necessary to give your teen the love he or she truly needs.
