![]() Dear Youth Leader: On April 30-May 1, 2010 Northwest Baptist youth, friends, and youth leaders will gather for our annual NWBC Student Conference. This event for junior and senior high youth and sponsors will be held at Crossroads Community Church in Vancouver, Washington. Our theme this year is “Roots”. Our theme verse is Colossians 2:6-7. Our featured speaker this year is Brent Gambrell. Brent’s website sums up his ministry perfectly: “Brent’s life is a testimony of what God can do in a life that is surrendered. It is in our weakness that He is strong. Embracing this truth, Brent travels the country telling people about the transforming truths of the Bible. When people are taught the acceptance of Christ, their identity and freedom in Him, they respond by following Jesus, not simply out of duty but out of pure joy. People will never change their behavior until they change their minds first. Brent Gambrell is the president of Brent Gambrell Ministries, a ministry organization based in Nashville, TN. Since 1990, Brent has been traveling full-time, ministering to students, singles groups, and churches across this country.” Brent is also known to be extremely funny and relating the Bible in a way that teenagers can understand and grab onto. To learn more about Brent: www.brentgambrell.com. Our worship leaders this year will be Caleb and Sol Rexius. Caleb and Sol are former college athletes at University of Oregon who felt being called away from sports to focus on a music career to help spread the word of God. The twin brothers have always made music a part of their lives but did not consider making a career out of it until 2008 when they recorded their debut album, “Afloat.” Since then they have become a highly sought out group for performances and leading worship together. We are excited to have these young, talented young men lead us in worshipping our God. For more information: www.calebandsol.com. Our Friday “Late Nite” activity will be FREE and on site featuring prizes, free giveaways and illusionist Drew Worsham. Drew is quickly becoming one of the most popular Christian illusionists for events and camps and has even had the opportunity to use his illusions to reach people overseas. He infuses his mind bending illusions with a strong biblical message and is also one of the most personable people you will ever meet. For more information including some video of Drew’s illusions: www.drewworsham.com The cost for this year’s conference will be $40. This will include conference fee, Saturday lunch, illusion show, and for those who preregister by April 16, a FREE Roots T-Shirt. We have made an agreement with Vancouver hotels for discount accommodations and free “sleep on the floor” local church arrangements (see enclosed budgeting sheet). Encourage your students to invite their non-Christian friends. We are looking forward to what God will do during this awesome weekend! See ya there! Danny Kuykendall
