Language Missions facilitates
new work by:
- Providing field surveys and
on-site evaluations by consultants
- Conducting personal assessments,
interviews, and seminars
- Resources and Contextual materials
provided for individuals,
churches, and regional associations of churches
- Contextual Leadership Development
(CLD) and various levels
of training are provided for workers and ethnic leadership
To date, the Northwest Baptist
Convention comprises approximately 430 affiliated churches and
missions. More than one hundred-thirty five (135) of these units
speak one of seventeen different languages, not withstanding
a multitude of dialects. Ethnic/culture people groups come to
America for various reasons. They are either Christians or seekers
(Acts 17:26). It is our privilege as well as responsibility to
share the Gospel and the love of Jesus Christ.
There are many facets to language/culture
missions and ministries. If The Lord has impressed diversity
and missions upon your heart, please allow us to help you and
equip you as a good steward of the Gospel (I Pet. 3:15). As a
result of your obedience, you may be the key to an unreached
people group in America. Yes, international mission opportunities
are all around us. Your input and inquiry is always welcome.
We look forward to hearing from you.
Field Evaluations
PROBE: A one to three-day
field study of an area to determine all types of potential new
work needs.
LASER (an acronym for Light
Amplification by Simulated Emission Radiation): A tool that seeks
immediate response to cultivate, motivate, and establish ethnic/language
work in a region. This strategy networks SBC National Consultants
with churches, associations, and convention resources.
Church Planting Assessments
This is a process to
help determine an individuals personal profile, gift-mix
and calling for church planting in a given region. The husband
and wife are a team. They are evaluated together in an extensive
interviewing process.
