Carlton & Fran coordinate construction needs for the NW Convention. Their services include meeting with building committees and staff to explain the steps in the building process. They can provide lists of building suppliers who offer materials at builder's prices. A Fundamental Church Construction course and/or syllabus is available periodically.

The Butlers also coordinate volunteer builders with NW Baptist churches and facilities. They publish a NW building needs list annually to over 400 teams and individuals. They also list the needs on the NAMB construction needs web site, the ON SITE magazine and the Texas Partnership office.

Building Needs
Early planning is essential when considering a building project for your church. Before considering your building, you need to have a site plan. A plan for financing needs to be addressed before you get too far in the process. Other steps are necessary before you actually get your plans. We are willing to talk to your church leadership about the steps to take and the type of committees you will need during your process. Building materials can be obtained from several different sources. We have many sources for you to consider when you are ready to build. Our office is willing to assist in helping you get your building materials, if requested.

Planning
Fundamentals of Church Construction course is available through the Golden Gate Theological Seminary Pacific Northwest Campus. Contact Margaret Waldrop 360-882-2170 or upon request through your associations.

The time to take the course is even before you purchase property to build. The purpose is to help you be a good steward of the task ahead. You will receive instruction about what to do before you build, the proper sequence of events in actual construction and steps to take along the way.

Any student planning to be or is in now on a church staff can benefit from taking the course. Building committee members or interested members who are in a church planning to build or remodel can gain valuable information about the process of planning and building.

To organize church building committees contact your NW Construction Team Coordinator Carlton Butler at 360-882-2109.

Volunteers
Our office coordinates the construction needs of a church with individuals or teams who are willing to assist in construction. Many have had years of experience in the trade either professionally or as a volunteer. Others are willing to help with instruction and guidance by experienced builders the teams or individuals and the church work out the details of what is expected.
