Ken
Brooks became the Volunteers
Mobilization Strategist for the Northwest Baptist Convention
in June of 2006. A native of Las Cruces, New Mexico, Ken is a
graduate of Oklahoma University (B.A.) and Golden Gate Baptist
Theological Seminary (M.Div.). While a student at O.U. he studied
on scholarship in South Korea, lived with a Korean family and
focused on Korean history and language. Ken and his wife Shirley,
currently live in Redmond, Oregon, where he has been serving
since 2004 as director of church and pastoral health for the
High Desert Baptist Association. The Brooks have four children
and eight grandchildren. |

Millie Burkett
Preschool/Children's Strategist |
Millie
Burkett is the preschool
and childrens ministry strategist of the Northwest Baptist
Convention. Prior to the creation of this position in 1999, she
served as team secretary and preschool and children specialist
for the Church Growth Team of the NWBC. She has been in preschool
and childrens training for the Northwest Baptist Convention
for 15 years. During that time she has also participated as a
preschool and childrens specialist in other state conventions
as well as national conferences at Glorieta, New Mexico. From
1975 to 1985 she served as a preschool specialist in California.
Before serving on the Church Growth Team she worked as receptionist/secretary
and then as graphic artist for the Northwest Baptist Witness.
She and her husband, Bill, enjoy gardening, hiking and visiting
their three grandchildren. They have two married sons, Rob and
Eric. |

Cameron Crabtree
Communications
Team Leader/Editor |
Cameron
Crabtree joined the
Northwest Baptist Convention staff in August 2002 as editor and
communications team leader. In his leadership role, he serves
as editor of the Northwest Baptist Witness, a monthly newspaper
that serves as the official publication of the convention, and
supervises the convention's communications services, which includes
graphic design and printing services, technology services for
NWBC employees and general public relations.
Prior to serving in the Northwest
he was vice president for public relations at Golden Gate Baptist
Theological Seminary in Mill Valley, California, from 1991-2001,
with responsibilities including operation of the school's news
and information services, marketing communications and assisting
in fund raising efforts. He also served as news editor of The
California Southern Baptist, the official news journal of the
California Southern Baptist Convention, from 1985-1991.
Mr. Crabtree received a master
of arts in theological studies from Golden Gate Baptist Theological
Seminary and a bachelor of public administration from the University
of San Francisco. He and his wife, Wendy, have two sons, Jonathan
and David. |

Bill Crews
Executive
Director |
Bill
Crews,
retired president and chancellor of Golden Gate Baptist Theological
Seminary, became executive director of the Northwest Baptist
Convention in fall 2007. Crews, a former pastor in the Seattle
and Portland metropolitan areas, served as president of Golden
Gate Seminary from 1986-2004 and then as chancellor for an additional
two years. He retired from the seminary last year. He served
as president of the NWBC from 1975-76. He also was editor of
the Northwest Baptist Witness for two years. |

Joe Flegal
Church
Health Strategist |
Joe
Flegal
has served as church health strategist for the Northwest Baptist
Convention since January 2008. Prior to that he was administrative
ministry pastor of Greater Gresham (Ore.) Baptist Church for
18 years.
Besides giving
leadership to the conventions church health ministry area,
Flegal is responsible for developing church consultation projects
designed to revitalize churches.
Before moving
to the Northwest, Flegal served on the staff of Frederick Boulevard
Baptist Church in St. Joseph, Mo., where he served from 1984-89.
He received a doctor of ministry from Golden Gate Baptist Theological
Seminary in 1999, a master of divinity from Golden Gate in 1992,
a master of arts in religious education from Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary in 1984 and a bachelor of business administration
from Hardin-Simmons University in 1980. He and his wife, Sueann,
have two children. |

Gary Floyd
Missions Ministries
Strategist |
Gary
Floyd is the Mission
Ministries Strategist of the Northwest Baptist Convention. He
has served in that role since March 1993. Prior to his current
responsibility, he was appointed by the North American Mission
Board, SBC, as pastor of Lithonia Central Baptist Church, Lithonia,
Georgia, and director of church and community ministries for
the Stone Mountain Baptist Association, Conyers, GA. He has also
served as minister of education and administration of a church
in California and as a Baptist Student Union director in California.
Gary is a graduate of Samford
University (BA), and Golden Gate Baptist Theological Seminary
(M.Div.). He has served as a director on several boards of community
ministry organizations and was co-founder and president of the
Greater Lithonia Christian Council. He also served as the director
of a state campaign committee in Georgia. He is married to Dianne
and has three children: Stephen, Rachel, and Katie. His hobbies
include cooking, and meeting new people. |

Jim Harvey
Evangelism Strategist
and Church Health Team Leader |
Jim
Harvey has served the
Northwest Baptist Convention since 1996, first as the Strategist
for Sunday Schools and Small Group Bible Studies and now as the
Evangelism Strategist. Prior to his current responsibility, he
was Church Development Division Director for the Hawaii Baptist
Convention, serving Baptist churches in Hawaii, Samoa, and Guam.
He has also served as a Church Growth Consultant for the LifeWay
Christian Resources serving states, associations, and churches
in the United States and Canada, as Minister of Education/Administration
for Immanuel Baptist Church, San Bernardino, California, Foreign
Missionary to Indonesia, and served two churches as pastor in
Texas.
Jim Harvey is a graduate of
Howard Payne University (B.A.) and Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary (M.Div. & M.R.E.). His published works include numerous
Sunday School, Church Growth, and Pastor/Staff articles, tracts,
and brochures. He also compiled How to Conduct Outreach Bible
Studies, and How to Start New Sunday Schools (1990 editions).
He is married to Elaine K. Harvey and has five children. Before
entering the ministry, he was in the travel business with Trailways
Bus Company, and Thomas Cook Travel, Inc. He enjoys running,
racquetball, and tennis as well as reading, writing, and his
four grandchildren. |

Ken Houston
Technology Manager |
Ken
Houston is the Communications
Manager for the Northwest Baptist Convention. He has served the
convention since April 1979. Until January of 1996 he served
as the printing services director. He is now responsible for
NWBC communications through phone, voice mail, and electronic
communications.
Ken is married to Tracy, and
has three boys - Paul, Mark, and Drew. His hobbies include tennis,
golf, basketball, and biking. |

Wes Hughes
Collegiate Ministry Strategist |
Wes
Hughes is the Collegiate
Ministry Strategist of the Northwest Baptist Convention. He has
served in that role since January 2004. Prior to his current
responsibility, he was the Baptist Campus Ministry director at
Oregon State University in Corvallis, Oregon, from September
1997 to December 2003. He has served as a collegiate minister
in the Northwest since 1991 and served as the youth consultant
to the NWBC from 1993 to 1997.
Mr. Hughes is a graduate of
Oklahoma Baptist University with a bachelor of business administration
(1989) and the Pacific Northwest Campus of Golden Gate Baptist
Theological Seminary with a master of divinity (1995). He is
married to Charlean and has three children: Abigail, Zachary
and Dakoda. They are members of Tri-Mountain Community Church
in Ridgefield, WA. |

Vince Inzerillo
Language Strategist |
Vincent
Inzerillo is the Language
Missions Director/Strategist of the Northwest Baptist Convention.
In this capacity he has initiated several Contextual Leadership
Development Schools in sponsorship with Golden Gate Baptist Theological
Seminary and the Northwest Baptist Convention. He has co-founded
and participates as Chairman of the Board of Directors for the
Asian Training Institute of Portland, OR and serves as ex-officio
for several language fellowship organizations. He has written
articles, and speaks to churches and organizations regarding
ethno-cultural ministry. He also helps to train leaders and produce
contextual materials and curriculum for reaching ethnic Americans
in the Pacific Northwest for Christ. Prior to serving with the
Northwest Baptist Convention, Inzerillo served for twelve years
as the Language Ministries Director for the Puget Sound Baptist
Association. Previous ministry included pastoring a multi-ethnic
church in the Seattle area, and, during seminary, helping to
start Hope Community Church (cell model) in Ft. Worth, TX. During
university years Inzerillo participated in summer missions programs
as an application of Proverbs 10:5.
Mr. Inzerillo is a graduate
of the University of Washington (B.A.), Southwestern Baptist
Theological Seminary (M. Div.), and Golden Gate Baptist Theological
Seminary (D. Min.). Inzerillo did not grow up in a Christian
environment. He gave his life to Christ while in the Navy, as
a result of the witness of a fellow sailor. As a musician in
the Navy Band he traveled abroad in many countries. This, as
well as growing up in a multi-cultural setting, has helped in
understanding the needs of multi-ethnic communities. He is married
to Marilyn (Bitar) and they have three children - Vincent, Adrian,
and Marissa. Vince's hobbies include music, tennis, and international
cuisine. |

Danny Kuykendall
Youth Ministry Strategist |
Danny
Kuykendall is the Youth
Ministry Strategist for the Northwest Baptist Convention. He
has served in that role since August 1998. Prior to his current
responsibility, he pastored in Spokane, Washington, at Driscoll
Boulevard Baptist Church from 1995-1998. He has also served as
youth and college minister in churches in Oregon, Texas, and
Arizona, as well as Baptist Student Union Director at the University
of Arizona.
Danny is a graduate of Northern
Arizona University (B.S.) and Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary (M.R.E.). Published works include articles in Student
Magazine and youth Straightrack curriculum. Before entering the
ministry, he worked for the U.S. Forest Service, taught Junior
High English, and coached basketball and track in Hood River,
Oregon. Danny is married to Laurie L. Kuykendall and has two
children Jason and Wendy. Hobbies include fishing, hunting,
biking, softball, and reading. |

Steve
Langston
Business Manager |
Steve Langston has been Business Manager of Northwest
Baptist Convention since 1975. Prior to becoming Business Manager,
he served two years as Youth Director at Lincoln Street Baptist
Church in Portland, Oregon, and served as a Chaplains Assistant
in the United States Army.
Steve is a graduate of the
University of Oregon (B.S.). He was active in Baptist Student
Union during college serving as a summer missionary to Wisconsin
and serving as State BSU President. Steve has lived in Oregon
since 1960 when his parents moved to eastern Oregon. He is married
to Nancy (Merrill) Langston, from Spokane. Steve and Nancy have
two children--Nathan and Emily. Stevens brother Norman
serves a pastor of First Baptist Church, Beaverton, Oregon. Steves
hobbies include tennis and reading. |

Bevan McWhirter
Church Starting Strategist/Team Leader |
Bevan
McWhirter is Church
Starting Strategist of the Northwest Baptist Convention. He has
served in that role since February 1991. Prior to this assignment,
he pastored two Northwest churches for a total of eleven years.
His first pastorate was in Bellingham, WA where he served as
church planter and founding pastor of what has become Community
Baptist Church. He also pastored Chestnut Street Baptist Church
in Ellensburg, WA.
Bevan has a Bachelors
degree in Business Administration with a major in management,
from Georgia State University. He served as an officer in the
Army and in business prior to entering seminary. He graduated
from Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with a M.Div.
He is married to Joyce and has three children: Jacob, Brooke,
and Kristin. His hobbies include wilderness camping, hiking,
trout fishing, and target shooting. |

Kimberly K. Runner
Missions Education and Women's Ministry Strategist |
Kimberly
K. Runner has served
the Northwest Baptist Convention as Missions Education and Women's
Ministry Strategist since January 2006. She came to the Pacific
Northwest in 2000 and worked for the Northwest Baptist Foundation
in Trustor Relations from 2002-2005. Kim is a graduate from Southwestern
Baptist Theological Seminary and Oklahoma Baptist University.
She earned a masters in communications with an emphasis in photography
and a bachelors in art. Kim also served at Multnomah Bible College,
California Baptist University, Southwestern Baptist Theological
Seminary, and the International Mission Board). |
